2nd Annual BBQ Cookoff

This past weekend we were at the GGG Ranch for the 2nd Annual Gronauer vs. Saner BBQ Cookoff. We headed up to the ranch Friday and got there in time to see this beautiful sunset. Something about Texas sunsets in the country.....
Friday night the boys prepared their meats. They compete in three categories: brisket, ribs and chicken. Josh definitely brought his A game and I think everybody thought he was going to be the winner this year even though Jerry is the reigning champion.
Saturday the boys were up early, getting their smokers smokin'!
What's a fun weekend without a T-shirt??
So while the boys were manning their bbq all day, we all layed in the pool and played with Jen and Josh's new puppy! Jager is the cutest puppy! He looks just like the little lab on the cottonelle commercial and that is bc they are from the same family. He was definitely are entertainment for the weekend. Here is he learning to fetch!
Too cute! He hasn't quite grown into his big paws yet.
Our official BBQ Judge. He judged all 3 dishes blindedly. Josh won the first round brisket, Jerry won the second round ribs and it all came down to the chicken.
AND JERRY WON!!!! His dad was so proud!

We all enjoyed some BBQ and ended the evening with some fireworks over the lake. It was Mr. G's birthday weekend too...so we celebrated that too! Fun weekend!

4th of July 09

This past weekend we headed up to the Triple G Ranch to celebrate the 4th of July. Jerry, Jeff and I went up Friday to get some work done then Mr. Gr joined us Friday afternoon. Meridith, Michael, Jenni and Preston joined us Saturday. We had a lot of fun, drank too much, ate a lot of BBQ and of course spent most of the time in the pool.
Jerry took this photo while he was grilling some steaks Friday night.
Me, Jerry and Jenni in the pool..pretty much how we spent the whole weekend...

Jerry and Jeff also put on a pretty good fireworks show after dark.
We're heading back up there this weekend for the 2nd Annual Gronauer v. Saner BBQ cookoff.
We had the first one 2 years ago and Jerry won! Jerry and Josh will be cooking off again each cooking chicken, ribs, and a brisket. We will also be celebrating Mr. G's birthday..should be good times again!!!

Father's Day Fun

We had a super fun weekend with our families celebrating Father's Day. Friday afternoon we headed out to the Woodlands to be with my family. We had drinks and played a game of tennis. It was super fun and we all realized that we are definitely not as good as we used to be!
After, momma broiled shrimp! YUM!
Saturday we headed to the Gronauers and stayed through Sunday and BBQ and layed by the pool. We are so lucky to have great parents that live in the same city of us!
FUN FUN FUN weekend!

I made this Sunday at the Gronauers to go with the BBQ.

Anniversary Trip

Last week Jerry and I took a little get away to Horseshoe Bay Resort to celebrate our 3 year anniversary.  We realized that we really hadn't had a getaway just the 2 of us all alone since our honeymoon.  We have had vacations and lots of fun getaways but not by ourselves!  So needless to say, it was very much enjoyed!
We enjoyed a couples massage, laying out by the pools, lots of cocktails, being on the lake and lots of relaxation!

On our way to the yacht club/beach and pool area..
On our anniversary, we came in from the sun about 5 to take a nap before dinner and received a bottle of champagne and strawberries from my parents!  It was so sweet and much enjoyed and perfect timing!!!
One day we rented one of their pontoon boats to get out on the lake...so much fun.  We cruised the lake (not very fast boat though..lol) and then just anchored in a cove and relaxed and swam.  We really had perfect weather the whole time and even had a romantic thunderstorm and lightning storm over the lake one night!

Lump Crabmeat Salad

I'm so excited about supper tonight....I made a little bit of a treat (since jumbo lump crabmeat today was $26!)

Lump Crabmeat Salad

1 container of jumbo lump crabmeat
tomatoes, jalepenos, onions, avocado and fresh basil
seasoned with lemon juice, tony's and a little tabasco.
Sound good and will taste good after a long hard and hot workout....
Now i just have to go get the workout done so I can enjoy it.
I am going to serve it in lettuce cups.
It is a great appetizer, scooped ontop of a salad or eaten just by itself!

FREE CLOTHES!!!!

So after Jerry headed to work this morning, I got out of bed and started cleaning out my closet...
Once I started, I couldn't stop.  I have been really bad about keeping clothes and shoes way too long! I still had some clothes from high school!  It was ridiculous!!! After a few hours of cleaning out, this is what I have to give away:

I have LOTS of designer jeans (mostly size 30) including sevens, citizens, juicy and more.
I have lots of designer slacks, Nike workout capris and shorts and shirts....
I offering my family and friends come shopping and then what is not taken by next weekend will be donated.

So after purging my closet, I decided to re-organize it a bit and headed to the Container Store.
I upgraded my lingerie drawers with these silk divided boxes.
I also broke down and bought a shoe rack.  Jerry has been talking about building one into my closet but that hasn't happened and I liked this expandable rack.  However, I wish they would have noted that size 7 shoes were a bit too small to fit on the rack.  The racks were too wide and my little size 7 shoes don't fit how they are supposed to...but I found a way to make it work.

It feels so good to get more organized!!!!
If you want to come shop in my closet...please do!!!! Just give me a call..
